On the afternoon of this Thursday, social media reported the murder of Diego Isla Anguiano, owner of a gym in the Centro neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc borough in Mexico City. According to journalist Antonio Nieto, Isla Anguiano also owned gyms in Cancún and Santa Fe.

According to a report by journalist Carlos Jiménez (C4), during the incident, Diego Isla's finger was severed. The Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana de la Ciudad de México arrested a Canadian citizen as a suspect after Isla Anguiano's death.

According to information provided by C4, the attack was carried out by two men. One of them got off a motorcycle, shot at the gym owner, and then returned to the vehicle where his accomplice was waiting to escape the scene. It was mentioned that Isla usually went armed to the gym, but this did not prevent him from being shot inside Arnold's Gym located on Eje Central and Arcos de Belén.

In the same attack, Isla's partner, who is of Venezuelan nationality, was injured.
